Flash Photography

These are some of the better attempts of indoor flash photography. i tried to bounce off the light from my right wall on to my subject, while framing him on the left trying to put the golden ratio and rules of thirds on to the photograph composition.

This is an example of straight on flash light, which diminishes the depth of field, however the lighting on the subject is acceptable. the shutter speed should be slightly adjusted as well, as it is slightly blurred. the shutter speed is slow due to low light conditions. i could make use of a tripod to achieve a clearer composition.

 

This is an example of over exposed, and by the glass at the back it reflects the flash from my camera straight on to my lens, creates this over exposed, and dreamy effect to my photograph, which i think could be very interesting to capture my subject of my project in slow exposure, with correct lighting, which would achieve this dreamy effect.

 

There are two main light source in this two photographs the sun which is at the back and my flash, as the light is coming from the background the subject would be shown dark or as a silhouette, therefore i intend to shed back light on to the subject, which makes the subject in focus. But in the future,  i would try to avoid shooting with a strong light at the back ground, if i am not aiming to achieve a certain aesthetic effect.

These are some of the over exposed test i took, as the only light source of the two photographs at the bottom are from my flash. therefore the shutter speed is slow, and the aperture is low.

 

This is taken in the same location, however i slightly tuned the shutter speed, and aperture. the white balance, and the lighting is working as i bounced of the light from my right wall. if it is to take this photograph again, i would put a light at the left to add a bit of light to diminish the shadow at the back on the right.
